Oxley ARCM
Andrew studied the flute at Royal College of Music from 1975 to 78 gaining his performers ARCM. He then worked as a freelance flautist with various orchestras and also on film session recordings over a number of years, he has taught privately & also given a number of master classes. Whilst he was at the RCM he started repairing flutes, built his first flute & re-tuned various instruments. He also started manufacturing his own headjoints, which are his real speciality, to date he has made 52 concert flutes manufactured in silver & gold and over 1500 head joints in all sorts of different materials including one made from brass tube taken from the wreck of a sunken armed ship torpedoed @1918. He continues to develop his own flute headjoints to reflect the demands of both professional & student flautist alike & should anyone have their own Ideas he is more than happy to accommodate them (provided of course that the idea is not too outlandish) His list of clients include William Bennett, Adrian Brett, Atarah Ben-Tovim, Susan Milan, Nicholas Vallis-Davies, Julie Wright, Carolyn Nelson & many other eminent flautists. His head joints are available directly from him or through selected specialists such as Top Wind, All Flutes Plus & Onerati Strumenti a fiati of Florence.
